BIOGRAPHY
Sometimes art is meaningless or absurd but may be transcendent to a select few.
Mixed and digital media can create mysterious objects that exist somewhere between the physical and virtual world. Many original objects are subsequently destroyed in the process, only to leave the digital representation that does not decay.
The hidden thought process behind many of these works is somewhere between warm glow of old photographs and improvisational performance.
I enjoy found object sculptural collage, painting, ceramics, bronze casting, transforming materials into physical objects, and merging the virtual and physical world.
Themes of eggs, fertility, death, and consumption explore the idea of what is disposable and what is considered valuable.
Inspiration includes abstract expressionist sculpture, Raku ceramics, and Chinese bronze.
Artists I have learned from include Michael Obranovich, George Timoc, Ken Ferguson, Victor Babu, Jay Markel, Harry Geffert, and Jim Leedy.
Education includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (BFA) from Kansas City Art Institute in 1994 and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2018.
